I love these bowls year round for their ability to be packed full of healthy treats and be a meal all at the same time. You'll love these high protein packed smoothies with a twist.
I use what ever fruit is in season to mix my bowls. Adding a dairy free Greek yogurt is my first choice as I like to keep my diet mostly clean of dairy but any Greek yogurt will do as a great base. My favorite thing to do is add Greek yogurt and my protein powder together and blend them up together. One bowl will be small but I like to double up the recipe and share or save the other half for later.
I use coconut Greek yogurt but you can use any Greek yogurt you like and add your favorite vanilla protein powder. I mix these two ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
I like to use a vegan protein powder but it took me a while to find one I liked that wasn't so chalky. If you are trying to get away from milk products I would say buy samples of powders or most places like Whole Foods Market and Sprouts will let you return your powders just because you didn't like it without any questions asked.
When blending your Greek yogurt and protein powder this is a good time to also add any honey or nectar you want as well to add just the right amount of sweetness.
HOW TO COMBINE:
I add the Greek yogurt mixture at the bottom and then place the granola on top with the fruit, chocolate shavings and coconut flakes. The chocolate is my favorite part and I bought a big bar that you would bake with and do shavings on top. A little chocolate goes a long ways but you can never have too much. A good chocolate alternative is carob and I have also used that but I make sure it is a sweet carob because carob is known to be bitter.

Summer time isn't the only time I love to eat these so bring out your fruit and your protein shake powder and get started making bowls making every breakfast more fun without just a shake but a smoothie bowl.
2 cups Greek yogurt
1 serving of protein powder
1 TBS Nectar
Granola gluten free
Sliced fruit of your choice
Add Greek yogurt, protein powder and nectar in blender and blend until mixed together. Add a little Almond milk if it gets too hard to blend with the protein powder (optional).
Scoop into 1-2 serving bowls and top fruit of your choice and all desired toppings. I enjoy adding all types of berries, mangos, pears, watermelon, peaches, and so many other fruits. I always top with a little granola, coconut flakes and even add chia seeds and almond butter to give it even more fiber and healthy oils.
Fresh is always the best way I enjoy eating these bowls but I also freeze them for a later date adding granola only after bringing it back out of the freezer.
I use mostly vegetable protein in my bowls but that is because I am looking to stay away from all dairy products as much as possible. I find I have the best results maintaining a healthy weight when doing this.
